🍻 About OpenCraft
Where Craft Meets Open Culture
Our Story
OpenCraft began with a simple belief: that craft, open culture, local community, and responsible business can grow together.
We are the original OpenCraft venue — the founding location and the Core Team behind the OpenCraft brand. As an open brand, everything we've built — from our menu templates to our operational guides to this very license — is available for anyone to use, adapt, and build upon under the OpenCraft Brand License.
🎯 What We Mean by Craft
In the context of OpenCraft, Craft is not limited to beer, food, or handmade goods. It means products, services, experiences, spaces, activities, or knowledge created with intention, quality, honesty, and respect for creators, providers, customers, and the community.
Every beer on our tap list, every event we host, and every piece of knowledge we share reflects this principle.
🌍 What We Mean by Open Culture
Open Culture means a culture where people can learn, share, experiment, adapt, co-create, and build upon — while respecting provenance, responsibility, and community safety.
Our tap list, knowledge base, events, and even our brand are all part of this open philosophy. We believe that sharing knowledge makes communities stronger.
💎 Our Values
Community First
We build spaces where people can learn, talk, experiment, share, and meet in good faith. Community comes before profit.
Open by Default
Our knowledge, templates, guides, and even our brand license are open for anyone to use, adapt, and build upon.
Quality with Intention
We prioritise products, services, and experiences that have provenance, story, and genuine care behind them.
Responsible Growth
We operate lawfully, ethically, and sustainably — respecting our community, our environment, and our shared future.
🏷️ What is OpenCraft?
OpenCraft is an open brand — not a franchise. It exists for anyone who believes that craft, open culture, local community, and responsible business can grow together.
OpenCraft is not limited to beer bars or restaurants. The concept can be applied to cafes, bookshops, event spaces, workshops, studios, maker spaces, coworking spaces, craft stores, online communities, pop-up events — or any other venture aligned with our principles.
Under the OpenCraft Brand License, anyone can open a venue, fork the concept, or build upon it — as long as they meet the minimum standards that protect our community and brand integrity.
